Giving Thanks
Special thanks to Mrs. Virginia Jones for helping us host the youth group from Orlando,
Florida for lunch! Thanks also to the individual who sponsored a youth team for the Red
Cross Golf Tournament. Sheldon said that everyone had a great time (even in the rain!)
and that Main Street was well represented by Kelly Sanders, Kyle Herring, Thomas
Holder, Michael Owens & Preacher Mike. We also appreciate Thomas Holder for
volunteering his time at Main Street’s music camp…thanks so much! Finally, a huge
“Thank You” to the United Methodist Men for donating funds to help with the purchase of
a Wii for the Young Methodist Youth and the Methodist Youth Fellowship. It will be a
great addition to our fun time activities….we love y’all!
Youth Happenings
July 2 and July 6: No MYF– enjoy your holiday and stay safe! We will be visiting family in
Ohio.....call us on our cell if you need us!
July 4: Church picnic and fellowship at Beaver Dam…come enjoy this special time!
July 13-19: Salkehatchie camp in Dillon....MYF will be helping…details @ youth
July 16: Special Wednesday evening service with the Salkehatchie youth at Main Street.
We’ll have a youth band for music and a pizza party afterwards! Be there!!
July 21-24: Vacation Bible School–we need some youth to help with crafts, recreation &
snacks. Please help if you can….this is an important outreach for our church!
July 26: Outing to Myrtle Waves (joint trip for VBS participants, YMY & MYF)
Looking Ahead:
August 5-11: Mission trip to United Methodist Relief Center in Mt. Pleasant-- this needs to
be a priority for you! This is an excellent way to put your faith in action, grow closer to
God and enjoy fellowship with other youth at the same time!
*A BBQ plate fundraiser is being planned for late July/early August...details @ youth*
*We are planning a day trip to Carowinds....get details on dates @ youth*
Happy Independence Day!
As we celebrate this July 4th, consider the reason for our eternal celebration: Jesus Christ
called us to be His disciples and when we accept His gift of salvation, we will experience
the Truth and be set free from sin and its terrible consequences—not just for the moment
but for eternity! Praise the Lord!
Prayer Requests
Please keep our young people in your prayers since many are traveling! Also pray that we
would follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as we finalize plans for the fall/winter. If there
is any way that Main St. MYF can minister in our church, homes, schools or community
please let us know and we will make every effort to meet that need. Thank you for your
prayers for the children, youth, college crew and for our family.....we need and appreciate
prayer warriors! God bless you and God bless America!
